Use whatever influence it has to find a diplomatic and peaceful solution to the United States' rising conflict with Iran

The signers of this petition express their desire for the United States to solve its rising conflict with Iran peacefully. The conflict, which centers around U.S. economic sanctions and an advancing Iranian nuclear program, is the latest opportunity for the U.S. to show that its wisdom and compassion trump its military might. Signers of this petition understand that this conflict has the potential to irrevocably harm both nations and that nothing positive can be gained from military action. We also understand that allowing this issue to end in aggression constitutes a failure on the part of U.S. government and the people we elected to speak for us. We watched this same failure take place eight years ago and do not want to see it again.
