Users Bill of Rights for Airbnb Guests

With Airbnb, a host can cancel a reservation with very little justification. However, according to airbnb policy, "[A guest] can request changes to [the] reservation—such as the dates or number of guests—but [the] changes will need to be accepted by [the] host." The HOST. One day after making a reservation through Airbnb, my reservation was canceled because the host had not set the proper rates for 2016, despite the fact that the website allowed me to make the reservation at the posted rates on the selected. That is an extremely petty reason to cancel a booking. Guests should be protected from these types of arbitrary practices by under-regulated business in the "sharing economy". In order to do this, the Bureau of Consumer Protection
should introduce a User Bill of Rights.
