If we as a country have the ability to produce such a vast amount of energy, enough to provide for every single American, why has it not been done yet? The coal, oil or gasoline that powers the electricity-producing turbines is derived from non-renewable, limited energy sources; however, sources such as solar, wind or geothermal power can also create electricity. These perpetual forces are always renewable.
The United States is made up of 1.9 billion acres. Enough energy to power that much land means we would need 4 million GWh of power. It takes 2.8 acres to produce 1 GWh of solar energy per year.
