Soldiers of the United States accept the danger they face as part of their oath to serve this country. They display tremendous dedication and faith in this cause; faith which is echoed by their canine companions: military working dogs. These animals never personally swore to defend the consitution, but their actions and those of their handlers do so every day.
Whether American or British, the canine captured by the Taliban acted per his handlers, and in defense of freedom. The United States should use all means available to return this dog to his handler.
This petition is not meant to supersede efforts to liberate other Americans and Allies held in captivity. Sgt. Bergdahl and other allies have defended our freedoms with tremendous vigor and deserve the same liberation effort.
