Utilize independent non-partisan commissions to create policy reform to help Washington to escape politics as usual

Created by S.M. on March 08, 2013

A great deal has been made about the Simpson Bowles Debt Commission. It offered recommendations that are discussed seriously and broadly.

Washington has become so politically polarized that even the most obvious corrections are difficult to make.

Special interests wield so much power that vital issue solutions are watered down or stopped completely.

These independent commissions would focus on the creation of simple straight forward legislation free of loopholes, poison pills and pork. Legislation (real change) would be the goal of these commissions.

Optimally, the findings of the commissions could be presented with a simple up down vote.

There are too many issues that must be addressed and the dialogue must be focused on solutions and not politics.
