The United States use of the Imperial system of measurement is hindering our ability to lead the world. There is not an exact conversion between inches and centimeters making it difficult for US based companies to collaborate with internationals, which impacts international trade and commerce. NASA has already begun to use the metric system to better facilitate international endeavors, like the ISS, and the population of the US should follow suit. Joining the world community by utilizing the metric system would be a show of good faith and would make others feel more welcome in our great nation.
