The Post Office is a national institution, enshrined in the Constitution. It employs veterans and the disabled. It provides world access to even the smallest of communities. It is struggling financially because post mail has gone out of fashion. Let's update it by using its resources to institute national high-speed internet access such as DSL or wifi, first in rural areas, later in suburban and urban.
Currently, access to high-speed Internet is determined by whether or not it is profitable for a company to provide it. Companies are limiting speed and access based on corporate need, not local need. Let's bring our nation and our Postal Service into the 21st century by implementing high-speed, low-cost, public Internet access to the people.
