On the morning of 28 September, a rapid advance by the Taliban forces from three directions displaced the Afghan National Army troops in Kunduz city, who after several hours retreated to the outlying airport, leaving the Taliban in complete control of the city. I petition the current administration to assist the Afghan Military on the ground with the retaking of Kunduz, utilizing US Special Operations Command Service-members. We must stand shoulder to shoulder with our Afghan allies in the fight against the Taliban.
