Climate change policy entails a transformation in the way we think about planet Earth. This petition originates in a fundamentally new understanding of our planet, in which the atmosphere forms an integral part of Earth.
At present, the Obama Administration (OA) formulates climate policy based upon the false supposition that the land-sea surfaces constitute Earth’s surface; the atmosphere is not part of the planet. Thus, OA is not connected to the very climate for which policy is formulated.
The actual physical model of Earth is the atmosphere-integrated model, where climate and weather form integral parts of the planet.
We therefore petition OA to 1) acknowledge publicly that we reside, not on the surface, but in the interior of Earth and 2) formulate climate policy accordingly.
