Everyone needs to be aware of the side effects of a medication. Over 3 million people in the U.S. take or have taken Depakote which is typically used to treat migraines, depression, bi-polar disorder, and commonly as an anti-convulsant. The goal here is simply to add Fetal Valproate Syndrome to the list of side effects. Many children whose mother may have been on Depakote during the first trimester may have facial abnormalities, lower IQs, development delays, cognitive delays, hearing loss, behavioral issues, and these children are often diagnosed with Autism or Asperger's as well. Please sign this petition to see that others will be notified of this condition before their own child is diagnosed just like mine was. It is our human right to know.
