The Veteran Augmentation Plan would recruit transitioning active duty Soldiers and Veterans in support of the Department of Defense and its subordinate units. The Veterans will augment units, provide skilled, knowledge, and abilities vital to unit commanders. The objective is to eliminate some private contractors by hiring a Veterans as a government employee at twice his/her base pay when on active duty.
