Veterans Have Earned the Right to Benefit from AAFES

Veterans have made sacrifices for our nation but not ALL are authorized to use the Exchange at their local military base. DODI-1330.21 regulates the Exchange and needs to be revised to allow ALL veterans to continue using the AAFES system. Currently this regulation only allows Active Duty military and their dependents (Retirees, and 100 percent disabled veterans) Exchange privileges. As a Veteran, and now a Federal employee working for the DOD, I would like to see ALL DOD employees (Civilians and Military) the use of AAFES. I propose to include all Veterans and DOD Civilians to the current authorized patrons. This will help all veterans economically, increase sales and create jobs for AAFES, and create jobs at companies that supply AAFES, all while supporting our Military.
