Mr. President, many of us in this country have been inspired by your calls for addressing the ever-growing problem of income inequality in America, including a call for an increase in the minimum wage across the nation. We are therefore highly disappointed that you may sign the Farm Bill that was passed by Congress and the Senate, which would give large monetary subsidies to farmers, including large corporate farms that already make a large profit annually, while cutting $8.5 billion from the SNAP (or Food Stamp program) upon which a large number of Americans rely in order to feed themselves and their families each month--and the program has already been cut to the point where many people's benefits do not last for an entire month.
Please do not hurt the poor by signing this bill.
