Cuts to SNAP would impact about 900,000 veterans according to Forbes magazine. Assisting the poor is both a Humanist and Christian imperative (Matt 25). The expenditures could be easily balanced by cuts to oil or bank subsidies.
For these reasons, and because of our profound concern for those less well-off, we petition President Obama to veto any bill with cuts to SNAP.
