Certain members of Congress are attempting to pass the approval of the Keystone XL pipeline prior to the completion of further studies of environmental impact and job creation estimates are completed.
The approval of the Keystone XL pipeline is being used as leverage to pass several important bills related to extending unemployment benefits and the Payroll Tax Cuts which are set to expire on December 31, 2011.
We the undersigned believe that the issue of the Keystone XL Pipeline approval should be separate and of it's own merits, and not be used as a wedge issue by those wanting to do so.
Several studies exist which prove there are concerns: http://www.keystonepipeline-xl.state.gov/clientsite/keystonexl.nsf?Open
Please VETO any bill requesting approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline.
