Veto any Congressional Act that allows military detention of US Citizens.

Created by S.H. on December 01, 2011

The Senate voted on 11/29/11 to keep a dangerous provision in the National Defense Authorization Act. This provision will let the military detain terrorism suspects on U.S. soil and hold them indefinitely without trial.

Under this provision, U.S. citizens could be sent to Guantanamo Bay for indefinite detention. The accused would get just one military hearing. If the military asserts the person is a suspected terrorist they could be locked up for life, without ever formally being charged.

This is totally inconsistent with fundamental American principles.
