In a vote of 354 to 72 the House pandered to religious organizations and propose violating the First Amendment.
Religious institutions are not public goods and should not be eligible for disaster relief. The ACLU has agreed saying it is settled constitutional law that "taxpayer funds cannot go to construct, rebuild or repair buildings used for religious activities." This action gives one more unreasonable and, this time, unconstitutional privilege to religion.
If the Senata sends a similar resolution to President Obama for his signature, we encourage his veto.
