As Sen. Wyden said “[The Fourth Amendment] was a direct rejection of the authority that the British had claimed to have when they ruled the American colonies: the founding fathers said that our government does not have the right to search any house that government officials want to search, even if it helps them to do their job.”
Any bill which allows the government to monitor phone calls, emails or other communications made by Americans without a specific warrant specifying who is being monitored and providing probable cause that said individual(s) are involved in criminal activity is clearly unconstitutional and must be vetoed.
