Once again, women's righs to governance over their own bodies is being chipped away bit by bit. Planned Parenthood has saved the lives of countless women since Margaret Sanger opened her first birth control clinic in 1916. Sanger witnessed her own mother suffer through 18 pregnancies and, as a nurse, saw countless other women die trying to end unwanted pregnancies on their own. Planned Parenthood mainly provides information and instruction about birth control and women's health issues; abortion only represents a tiny portion of what they do.
If Planned Parenthood is gutted and shuttered, countless women---many of whom would have nowhere else to go---would needlessly suffer, simply to satisfy the blind ambitions of a handful of politicians who favor self-aggrandizement over duty.
