VETO the DARK Act so consumers have a voice in selecting GMO or Non GMO foods. Let the market drive this and not Corps.

Created by D.B. on August 02, 2015

The House has passed the DARK Act that will restrict labeling of GMO foods in our food supply. Passage in the Senate is pending.

Over 300 farmer, environmental and consumer groups opposed the bill along with the National Farmers Union (America’s second largest farming org) in letters to Congress. Also, 93% of respondents in a 2013 New York Times poll were also supportive of mandatory labeling for GMO foods.

The DARK Act removes transparency in our food supply by requiring the burden of proof for the safety of genetically modified ingredients to be determined by the developer of the product. Independent peer-reviewed studies are not required. Animals can be fed GMO feed, enzymes and drugs and still be called Natural or GMO free.

Consumers will be in the dark about their food.
