As it has now passed through a committee, HB1337 is set to be debated and voted upon by the U.S. Congress. If passed, this bill threatens to outlaw "sodomy" on a federal level.
This is clearly an effort to impose farcical religious laws on all Americans and is therefore a violation of our 1st Amendment rights.
Furthermore, this is an effort by members of congress to use federal legislation to subvert State's Rights.
It is time to take a stand against those who claim to want "small government," while simultaneously passing invasive laws that restrict our personal freedoms.
Regardless of whether or not you participate in sodomy, as an American, you must recognize that this is about freedom. Also, this is an anti-abortion issue which many families feel strongly about.
