The Feinstein-Lee Amendment of NDAA 2013 does not provide enough protection against the indefinite detention of American citizens. The 2013 version of the law dropped a provision that "would have explicitly barred the military from holding American citizens and permanent residents in indefinite detention without trial as terrorism suspects." President Obama must veto this bill in order to protect the rights of American citizens and prevent the possibility of their indefinite detention by the US military, while also striking down any chance that ordinary citizens would be brought before military tribunals and labeled "belligerents" or "enemy combatants."
