Veto the new National Defense Authorization Act.

Created by A.A. on December 01, 2011

The new National Defense Authorization Act, recently approved by Congress, presents a unique threat to the civil liberties of every single American. It allows the military to take custody of terrorism suspects and approves indefinite detention, including the indefinite detention of U.S. citizens. To say the least, it is an egregious violation of our rights to due process and invites abuse. No democratic government should be allowed to have this kind of power. If we forsake our civil liberties when we are told that it will make us safer, terrorism will be the least of our troubles.

We ask that President Obama do the right thing: veto this bill.
