President Obama,
It is heartening to see you make the issues of inequality and poverty a focus of your agenda. In this year's State of the Union, you said,"[W]herever and whenever I can take steps without legislation to expand opportunity for more American families, that’s what I’m going to do.” Well, there is something you can do, as leader of the richest country on earth, to prevent more families from going deeper in poverty and being forced to choose between buying groceries or heating their homes in this frigid winter: VETO the current farm bill that Congress is sending to your desk. The bill will cut $9 BILLION in food benefits for over 500,000 families, while allowing people earning up to $900k/yr to get farm insurance benefits with our tax$. Stand up for poor American families.
