Veto SOPA, PROTECT IP, or any bill containing immunity for Internet providers to censor and shut down websites

Two petitions related to the SOPA and PROTECT IP Acts have already reached the required 25,000 threshold to obtain a response from the White House.

The purpose of this petition is to continue the dialogue by educating the White House and fellow Americans about specific provisions of the bills we find objectionable. Our goal is to reach 25,000 on a series of petitions highlighting each of these objections.

The first relates to the absolute immunity SOPA and PROTECT IP grant Internet service providers for shutting down websites suspected of copyright infringement. This could be the most dangerous single provision of these bills resulting in overbroad private censorship of websites both foreign and domestic. Read more at: http://bit.ly/rzuxRP
