veto spending amendment #145 by McKinley (WV) that prohibits DoD from dealing with global warming issues.

Created by I.R. on May 28, 2014

As reported in I09, May 28, 2014, (http://io9.com/the-pentagon-wants-to-tackle-climate-change-but-cong-1581...) , FY2015NDAA HR4435 Rule Amendment #145 by McKinley (WV) (http://armedservices.house.gov/index.cfm/fy15-h-r-4435-floor-amendments-...) prohibits DoD spending necessary to deal with global warming results. The President should veto this amendment or in some other manner negate this restriction.

Why would we tie hands that protect us? This amendment makes no sense except in a purely anti-science way. Global warming is not a political issue but a scientific fact. It affects our military around the globe, and our military need to be able to deal with global warming consequences at our installations. To deny DoD this essential spending authorization is self-harm.
