Veto the CISA/CISPA bill when it comes to your desk unless it contains significant privacy protections. Ask any Cybersecurity expert, you will get the same answer: this bill will do very little to prevent attacks and breaches. The reason breaches happen is because of minimal funding, competing priorities, bad technical practices, and poor policy decisions. The bill does nothing to change those factors. At the same time, it will deputize companies into collecting personal information and sharing it with the government.
President Obama threatened to veto a similar bill in 2012, but the version that passed the Senate on 27 October is just as flawed as the 2012 bill. Please prove that you actually listen to the people and veto this bill.
