veto the XL Pipeline

We urge President Obama to veto the XL Pipeline permanently, to protect our planet from the inevitable toxic spills and carbon pollution that will result from the transport and burning of tar sands oil. We further demand that the president take definitive steps to end US dependence on fossil fuels, and take immediate bold action to develop renewable energy on a national scale, following the lead of European nations. We demand that the President set national targets for renewable energy and energy conservation of 20% by 2020, following the EU's 20-20-20 plan. We demand that the President immediately end the current practice of allowing lobbyists for fossil fuel conglomerates to write legislation governing their activities and that he support the reversal of Citizens United toward this end.
