Vietnamese-Amerasian Petition

Created by J.N. on March 03, 2012

We, the undersigned, do hereby petition the United States Government to consider the plight of the thousands of Amerasians that continue to suffer extreme deprivation of: opportunity, civil liberty, human rights, hopes that are not only governmental but also societal in Vietnam. The Amerasian Homecoming Act, which was passed into law in December of 1987, provides all Amerasians born between the years 1962-1975, and their close family members, the opportunity to resettle in the United States.
However, the third generation of Amerasians, who become 21 years and older are not allowed to, follow their Amerasian parents to the United States. Please consider the third generation Amerasians to the standard PRM family reunification who are attempting to join their families in the United States.
