No god, prophet, holy man, or other religious figure should be given any more protection from criticism than any other individual, living or dead.
No good can come of shielding religion from the need to compete fairly in the marketplace of ideas.
Considering such laws as a means to mollify religious extremists is cowardice of the highest order.
