Peace in the Middle East is the long-held dream of many. It can become a reality. But it requires justice.
The UN created Israel as a permanent homeland for the Jewish people after WW2, noting their suffering. But this has led to the displacement and misery for another people, the Palestinians. The UN must create a homeland for them as well, so that a lasting peace can finally be achieved.
The US has a powerful role to play in this as an honest broker and advocate for human rights (a role we are NOT currently playing here). The status quo will not change on its own. World powers created Israel. They must now come together to create Palestine.
