Vin Scully has been broadcasting baseball, our national pastime for 67 years. His voice has become the sound of summer, and his narration and descriptions have merged with the game itself. He has created poetry out of broadcasting and through it, an American art form where everyone after can only hope to become imitation.
In this, his last year behind the microphone, President Obama should award Vin Scully the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
