We express our concerns about continued confrontation in Ukraine. Mr. Yanukovych, as a democratically elected President of Ukraine, has every right to hold his office. However, his attempts to keep his post will only deepen the crisis, bring about further casualties, and can potentially lead to a civil war.
We are especially concerned that the continued violence radicalizes the society and may leads to a rise of extremist movements.
We hope Mr. Yanukovych will put the well-being of the nation above his personal interest and rights to the office of the President of Ukraine and will appoint a transitional non-partisan government, resign his post, and call for a new presidential election.
