Vote against Hydro Fracking in the Delaware River watershed.

Created by D.R. on November 22, 2011

The Delaware River provides clean drinking water to 5% of the population of the United States. It passes through beautiful areas with low population density in the Catskills and Western New Jersey. The proposal to drill 20,000 wells will transform this beautiful area, near major cities, into an industrial zone. Even if it is possible to drill for gas without pollution, the proposal has no provision to protect the watershed in case of infrequent events such as earthquakes. No fail safe mechanisms are proposed. There is potential for enough gas to support USA needs for two years. For this, it just isn't worth the likelihood of destroying this magnificent pristine area of the country.
