Vote against the Keystone Pipeline. America needs to take the lead in the fight against global warming

This is in no way shape or form politically charged. Rather it is an evaluation of the scientific data presented by numerous studies, including the recent film "Chasing Ice".The Canadian oil sands emit two times more greenhouse gas emissions than conventional oil production (Scientific American Feb. 2013). This could push our earth over a point of which we will not come back. I understand the prisoners dilemma here. It is economically beneficial for us to get all the cheap energy we can and if we don't use this oil someone else will. However, it is time for America to take a stand against global warming. It is happening here and now. Typically, geological change is thought to take 1000's of years. This is not the case here. Global warming is accelerating. For all of humanity please act
