It is not fair that the requirements to register to vote are more restrictive in some states than others particularly for those who do not have a drivers license. In a federal election everyone should have the same requirements to register and vote. Those who do not have a driver's license should not be discriminated against.
Check out www.gottavote.org to see the disparity in requirements to register to vote between states. Michigan, for example, seems very restrictive compared to other states.
