Dear President Obama,
The American public is aware of a current proposal in congress which would require service providers to store data related to consumer text messages for a period of two years.
I, Lucas Wynne, along with the individuals supporting this petition, ask that you defend the privacy of all Americans by vowing to veto any law or measure which would allow private and/or public entities to store data transmitted by users of data-transmitting services not suspected of any crime nor terrorist activity at the time of the data storage. This data is to include, but is not limited to, internet history, text messages, emails, faxes, and television viewership data. Furthermore, we ask that you urge lawmakers to pass a law which would proactively protect against such an intrusion.
