The goal of this petition is to urge the President to enact legislation that would waive all IRS tax, interest, and penalties for individuals who made hardship withdrawals from their retirement accounts following the "Great Recession". This legislation should be applied retroactively to January 1, 2010 in order to give proper relief to the tens of thousands of Americans who lost jobs or transitions into lower paying jobs and had no other choice but to raid their retirement accounts in order to survive.
