Waive student loan debt temporarily so the poor can use a grant to go back to school.

Created by A.H. on January 25, 2013

As it stands those who are in default of a federal student loan are not eligible to go back to school on a grant I would like to see this changed. People who are in poverty can barely afford to make ends meets and often of times have to choose between the basic essentials, rent or gas. So when you throw student loan debt into the equation it becomes a sticky situation to make it out of. I know what your thinking maybe if they pay as little as $5 a month but for most that's just the interest rate and even if it wasn't imagine how long it would take to pay back $6,000 with $5 a month. Please waive the debt temporarily. Allow the poor to get an education this will increase class mobility everybody wins.
