The United States is in the grips of one of the worst heroin epidemics in its history.People seeking treatment for heroin addiction face insurance companies that refuse to pay for inpatient rehab... patients who do get some insurance companies to cover for heroin treatment generally don’t get 30 days in a residential center. The average duration is 11 to 14 days and most people who are seeking inpatient wont meet "criteria" until they overdose and in some cases then its to late. Most professionals will agree they need alot longer. Insurance companies need to change their "criteria" people are dying every day because insurance companies have restricted coverage. Coverage that is available. They end up paying alot more for the numerous times addicts overdose and are in Intensive care.
