We ask the DOJ to investigate Harry Reid for violating HATCH act, conducting political activity from the Senate floor.

Created by S.L. on October 31, 2016

On August 2, 2012, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, speaking from the Senate floor, accused presidential candidate Mitt Romney of not paying his taxes for 10 years. This accusation was purely meant to influence the 2012 presidential election, and did not concern Senate business.

The appropriate section of the Hatch Act is below.

SEC. 2. It shall be unlawful for any person employed in any administrative position by the United States, or by any department... to use his official authority for the purpose of interfering with, or affecting the election or the nomination of any candidate for the office of President.
