- SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder): SAD is a condition that over 3 million people in the US suffer from. This condition is mad worse by the sudden loss of daylight hours. This can causes sufferers to feel fatigued, depressed and hopeless. SAD tends to start late fall and can continue through out the winter. An increase in daylight could decrease these symptoms.

- Energy Costs: Energy usage increases after daylight savings time ends resulting in higher utility bills for millions of Americans. While clean energy sources remain costly to implement and take time to roll out, this would be a simple and passive way we could decrease energy use. This would decrease usage of current technologies such as coal, fossil fuels and nuclear energy without budget increases or additional taxes.
