We ask that employment laws are amended to prevent discrimination against medical marijuana patients

This petition was inspired Brandon Coats a paraplegic who was fired after testing positive for medical marijuana who is now appealing to the Supreme Court. Those who need mmj can face a difficult time trying to find and keep work as drug screens have become a routine part of employment. Unlike other drugs mmj stays in your system longer; it's impossible to figure out when someone consumed it so patients are often fired for something they didn't do on work premises or on work time. We can't give disability to every patient so lets bar workplace discrimination for those with mmj licenses. Obvious exemptions for certain types of jobs but no one should barred a retail position for being a mmj patient.
