We the people ask the federal government to Take or explain a position on an issue or policy:

We ask that President Barack Obama DENY executive clemency to Rod Blagojevich

Created by J.E. on August 17, 2016

When he was Governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich was charged with trying to trade or sell the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama when he was elected president.

Blagojevich was subsequently impeached and removed from office for corruption. In 2011, Blagojevich was found guilty on all corruption charges pertaining to the senate seat, as well as extortion relating to state funds being directed towards a race track and a children's hospital.

Due to the magnitude and nature of Rod Blagojevich's crimes against the people of Illinois while serving as their governor, we believe that he should serve his full sentence.
