Students across the world have become increasingly more at risk to public danger via shootings. Tragic events like the Sandy Hook massacre have frightened families and kids tremendously and yet, little has been done to resolve such issues. Who’s to protect students from being killed in school; the one place where kids are supposed to feel safe and learn about the world around them. However, if teachers are given the power to carry a firearm then students may face little adversity in regards to danger. The Obama Administration needs to institute and provide extensive background checks and safety/handling training on firearms to school teachers, so that a great deal of defense is put into light to abolish future danger. Then and only then, will students truly be safe from harm.
