Under Medicare guidelines. There would be nothing more painful than to have a loved one to be denied treatment because of the Medicare lifetime cap. No other illness has this exclusion under Medicare. The federal government has already passed mental health parity but Medicare has not complied with the law. When we deny equality for one, we deny for all. The groundwork for this has already been started by Senators Olympia Snowe and John Kerry with their bill # S. 374 (Medicare Mental Health Inpatient Equity Act).
