Many video games and related merchandise are censored based on the belief that they could cause harm to minors exposed if they were to contain certain qualities such as violent speech. This shouldn't be the case and should be the parents and guardians', job to understand the material within the games their children are playing and shouldn't depend on the government or Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) to do it for them. Video games and their merchandise are a form of art created by the developers and should be protected by the 1st Amendment and should not be censored in anyway because it would destroy the artistic values and could teach us about cultures as something accepted in another country could hold a value, but we can't understand because of censorship not letting us learn.
