Barack Obama campaigned as a frequent inhaler and wrote of his recreational cannabis use in his autobiography. More recently, Barack has moved on to drinking his home-brewed beer, sipping some cold Buds courtside or swilling Guinness on a diplomatic trips. He still enjoys the occasional cigarette, but I don't think we need to worry about him turning back to the 'damaging' herb.
Still, is it fair for Obama to punish people under a federal law that he openly admits he 'frequently' broke?
We say the answer is emphatically 'no'. Therefore we call for Obama to cease enforcement of federal laws pertaining to marijuana, or report his crime to the appropriate federal authorities and face the penalty if the law is deemed to be so necessary.
