Unless Congress acts, the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) program has ended for 1.3 million jobless Americans. Unemployment benefits will be cut from as much as 73 weeks to 26 weeks as of December 28. EUC should continue until the economy picks up and jobs are available again (There are still 3 jobless for every job in the US).
