We declare the democratic system is fundamental to the life of the Puerto Rican community

Whereas, We the People of The United States of America support The Referendum Question on the November General Election 2016 Ballot in Puerto Rico.
Furthermore, In so doing, we declare the democratic system is fundamental to the life of the Puerto Rican community; We understand that the democratic system of government is one in which the will of the people is the source of public power, the political order is subordinate to the rights of man, and the free participation of the citizen in collective decisions is assured.
Be it Resolved we the people support the right of the people of Puerto Rico to vote on Statehood or Independence and demand the US Congress to honor the Democratic Process of an up or down vote by the people of Puerto Rico through a Referendum Question.
